Ⅰ.Overview

Knuckle Joint joint is an important component of basic tool string, which is used to supply curves for the tool string in order to enter into the deflecting section smoothly while operating in the inclined shaft.

III. Structural features and use:

The cardan joint is composed of upper contact, connecting sleeve, ball stud, lower contact, etc. The upper contact and the inner ball socket of connecting sleeve constitute a marked inner spherical surface; the bottom of ball stud is connected with the lower contact. While swinging and rotating the lower contact, the outer spherical surface of ball stud can move freely in the ball socket.

IV. Notes:

1. The cardan joint is usually connected with the bottom of jar for use.

2. Inspect that whether the lower contact can swing freely before entering the well.

3. After use, clean the dirt in the cardan joint to avoid damage and jam on the spherical surface.
