Product Description:

A biogas plant is a device that collects and processes various types of biomass such as farm waste and energy crops. It comprises an air-tight tank, configured to process these materials via anaerobic digestion. This process involves the microbial breakdown of the mixed feedstock to biogas. The biogas consists mostly of methane and carbon dioxide, and a digestate is also produced. Furthermore, when wastewater from the dairy, sugar, or brewery industries is co-digested with the biomass, greater quantities of biogas are produced – 2.5 times more than from wastewater from the brewery only.

Although it is possible to create biogas from crops like maize silage, such practices may be deemed unsustainable. Intense and concentrated soil erosion have been linked to these plantation-based biogas plants.
