The High-Stability Platform for Deviation-Sensitive Targets
Borehole deviation is the silent enemy of accurate resource
estimation. A hole that wanders off target by even a few degrees at
600 meters can miss the intended mineralized zone entirely. The
GD-600L Fully Hydraulic Core Drilling Rig is engineered as a
high-stability platform, combining a 16-ton feed system, a ground-contact integrated tower, and 2000 N.m of smooth hydraulic torque to maintain borehole straightness from collar to total depth.
Weighing 5200 kilograms, this rig provides the mass and rigidity that deviation-sensitive
drilling demands.
Stability begins with the ground-contact tower. Unlike mast-style towers that are pinned to the rig frame, the
GD-600L’s integrated tower transfers drilling loads directly to the earth, eliminating the
flex and vibration that cause deviation. The 16-ton feed cylinder is precisely aligned with the tower axis, ensuring that the feed
force is applied along a true line. The tower’s length and cross-section are engineered to resist
bending moments, even when drilling at maximum depth and in dipping
formations. The result is a borehole that stays true to its planned trajectory.
Rotational stability is provided by the three-speed gearbox and
plunger motor. The 2000 N.m of torque is delivered with exceptional smoothness, free from the pulsations
and torsional vibrations that can cause the bit to walk off course.
The operator can select low gear for maximum torque at low RPM,
which is ideal for starting holes and drilling through fractured
ground where deviation risk is highest. The stepless speed control allows fine-tuning of rotation to match
the formation, further reducing the forces that can push the bit
sideways.
The steel track undercarriage contributes to stability by providing
a wide, solid foundation. The 5200-kilogram weight is distributed across the tracks, which are widely spaced to resist rocking on uneven ground. The low center of gravity means the rig does not shift or settle during drilling. Once the GD-600L is set up and leveled, it stays where it is put,
providing a stable platform hour after hour.
Real-time monitoring helps the driller maintain straightness. The control panel includes precision pressure gauges that indicate feed force and torque, allowing the driller to detect
anomalies that might signal deviation. The 10 KN booster circuit provides controlled breakout force, preventing the sudden shocks
that can knock the bit off alignment. Experienced drillers appreciate the tactile feedback of the
proportional controls, which allows them to feel the formation and
adjust instantly.
For projects where borehole deviation is not an option—such as
resource definition drilling, directional core sampling, or
geotechnical hole accuracy—the GD-600L is the high-stability
platform that delivers. It combines mass, rigidity, smooth power, and precise control to
keep the hole straight and the data reliable. When your resource model depends on accurate collar-to-target
trajectories, the GD-600L is the rig you trust.
