1.Product Introduction Calcination Rotary Kiln
The Kaolin Calcining Rotary Kiln is a high-temperature, continuous calcination system specifically
engineered for the production of paper-grade and ceramic-grade
kaolin. By precisely controlling temperature and material residence
time, the equipment facilitates the dehydroxylation and phase transformation of kaolinite. This process significantly enhances the product's
whiteness, chemical activity, and thermal stability. Featuring an
inclined cylinder and slow-rotation structure, the kiln ensures
uniform heating and prevents performance degradation caused by
local overheating.
2.Application Calcination Rotary Kiln
Paper Industry: Used as a coating and filler to improve paper opacity, smoothness,
and printability; it serves as a cost-effective partial substitute
for titanium dioxide ($TiO_2$).
Ceramics Manufacturing: Utilized in glazes and body additives to increase refractoriness,
mechanical strength, and surface gloss for daily-use ceramics and
industrial refractories.
Functional Fillers: Applied in rubber, plastics, and coatings to optimize electrical
insulation, heat resistance, and dispersion properties.
3.Working Principle Calcination Rotary Kiln
Preheating Phase: Raw kaolin passes through a preheater to remove surface moisture
and volatiles. A gentle temperature gradient prevents particle
bursting.
Calcination Phase: Materials enter the high-temperature zone (950–1100°C). Kaolinite undergoes dehydroxylation to form metakaolin, which further transforms into silica-alumina spinel or mullite phases to boost chemical activity.
Cooling Phase: The clinker is rapidly cooled to stabilize the crystalline
structure and prevent cracking caused by thermal stress.
Movement Mechanism: The inclined cylinder causes material to move axially during
rotation, creating a continuous tumbling effect and heat exchange
interface for reaction uniformity.
