Dowsil™ Q4-2805 is a one-part,
non-curing fluorosilicone channel sealant designed for extreme fuel
and oil environments. Its white putty-like compound is directly
injected via air gun into grooves, providing durable sealing in
aircraft fuel systems while meeting MIL-S-85334(AS) military
specifications.
Product Description
This sealant maintains consistent
performance from -55°C to +200°C, withstanding prolonged immersion
in jet fuels (e.g., JP-4, JP-5). Its flow-control particles enable
rapid injection at reduced pressures, while slight swelling upon
fuel exposure actively tightens seals – a critical feature for
pressure fluctuations caused by aerodynamic heating in fuel tanks. Characteristics Industry-leading fuel resistance: 30% swell in Jet reference fuel
(7 days @80°C), 12% swell in JP-4/JP-5 fuels, with ≤2.5% weight
loss. Its non-curing formulation ensures long-term flexibility,
resists shock/vibration/thermal cycling, and contains no catalyst.
Exhibits excellent adhesion to 2024 clad aluminum (adhesive
strength > cohesion strength). Application Scenarios
