CDPs can be used not only as a chiral stationary phase for chromatographic separation, but also widely used in organic synthesis, pharmaceutical industry, environmental protection and new materials. Moreover, it can be further added, oxidized and reduced to provide an important intermediate for the derivatization over 3 carbon outside the cyclodextrin ring.
