Micro-lapping produces a very smooth, polished surface character on critical surfaces of the ceramic part. Our fine-grain materials, including: A998, A96, and PSZ are suitable for the lapping process as a value-added offering.

Alumina - A Ceramics Industry Standard

Alumina, one of the oldest technical ceramics, remains one of the most common still in use. Alumina, thoroughly documented since the 1920's, is an industry standard to which many other ceramic materials are compared. Alumina’s most notable characteristics are its high hardness and dielectric constant. These characteristics make alumina ideal for customer applications subject to high wear and/or low electric loss. Approximately 45 million tons of alumina is produced annually making it one of the most abundant ceramic materials on the market.
