Product: GAMMA intramedullary interlocking nail
1. Clinical Back Ground
Gamma is a comprehensive intramedullary nailing system for the treatment of a wide range of proximal femur fractures as well as associated femoral shaft fractures. The system is the result of over 25 years of continuous innovation and clinical history.
Preparation to determine the appropriate length and diameter of the FCIIN was necessary. The diameter needed to be 2 to 3 mm less than that of the proximal one third of medullary canal as measured on the radiophotograph. The length to be measured was the distance from the tip of the greater trochanter of the femur to the superior tip of the patella on the uninjured side. A variation in length was necessary when the FCIIN was used as a supracondylar FIIN. The FCIIN was then connected with the corresponding guide device, and the accuracy of the device tested in advance.
