• A split case pump is a type of centrifugal pump in which the pump’s casing is split into two separate chambers. This type of pump is different from an inline pump or an end suction pump in which the discharge nozzle and the suction nozzle are both included in one chamber.

• The split case pump has both the discharge and suction connections in the lower half of the pump casing, in an opposing configuration to each other. The pump’s impeller is normally mounted on a shaft that is supported by bearings on two sides.

• The pump also comes in a variety of configurations and designs including horizontal, vertical, vertical open shaft and close coupled configurations; with counter clockwise or clockwise rotation design options.
