Voltage Regulator A voltage regulator is an electrical device that adjusts the rated
input voltage to the desired output voltage. It features an
adjustable autotransformer structure with a carbon brush assembly
driven by the handwheel spindle and brush holder. The coil is
uniformly wound around the toroidal iron core, and the carbon brush
maintains close contact with the polished coil surface under spring
pressure. Rotating the handwheel spindle drives the brush holder,
allowing the carbon brush to slide along the coil surface. This
mechanism changes the contact position between the carbon brush and
coil, adjusting the turns ratio of the primary and secondary coils
to achieve smooth, stepless voltage regulation within the
