Electric Hammer Durability Test Apparatus
Standard: IEC 60745-2-1: Particular requirements for drills and impact drills, clause 17; IEC 60745-2-6: Particular requirements for hammers, clause 17 and figure 103 Application: This apparatus is applicable to durability test for hand held motor operated electric tools power no more than 2.5KW. Test sample: Electric hammers, Electric drills and impact drills Feature: The test apparatus in according with IEC 607465-2-6 figure 103 requirements, load hammer or drill, intermittent operate it, check whether electrical or mechanical hazard appears during the normal use of the electric hammer or drill. Equipment components are as follows: 1, electric control cabinet containing MITSUBISHI PLC, 7 Inch Touch screen, control panel, load (voltage 0-250V adjustable, voltage and current display); 2, mechanical device as shown in Figure 103, containing 360 kilograms of steel base, including the impact head, steel plate and fixture. Parameters: 1 No load test: All hammers, including hammers with drill only mode, are mounted vertically in a test apparatus as shown in Figure 103 and are operated at 1.1 times rated voltage for 12h, then operated at 0.9 times rated voltage for 12h. Each cycle comprising a period of operation of 30s and a rest period of 90s during which the tool remains switched off. During test, on each test voltage, hammer placed in three different directions (horizontal, vertical, vertical), each position of the tool running time of about 4 hours. 2 Load test: All hammers, including hammers with drill only mode, are mounted vertically in a test apparatus as shown in Figure 103 and are operated at rated voltage or at the mean value of the rated voltage range, for four periods of 6h each, the interval between these periods being at least 30 min. During these tests, hammers are operated intermittently, each cycle comprising a period of operation of 30s and a rest period of 90s during which the tool remains switched off. During the tests, an axial force to ensure steady operation of the impact mechanism is applied to the hammer through a resilient medium. If the temperature rise of any part of the tool exceeds the temperature rise determined during the test of 12.1, forced cooling or rest periods are applied, the rest period being excluded from the specified operating time. During these tests, overload protection devices shall not operate. The tool may be switched on and off by means of a switch other than that incorporated in the tool. During these tests, replacement of the carbon brushes is allowed, and the tool is oiled and greased as in normal use. If the impact mechanism fails mechanically during the test without causing an accessible part to become live it may be replaced by a new one.
