IEC60898-1 Circuit Breakers 28-day Tripping Characteristics Tester
Standards & Clauses:
The design and manufacturing of this test equipment follow the provisions outlined in IEC 60898-1 (9.1, 9.8, 9.9, 9.10), IEC 60947-1 (7.2.1), along with other related standards.
Product Information:
The equipment is designed to verify the compliance of circuit breakers with standard requirements by applying 1.13, 1.45, and 2.55 times the rated current to check whether tripping occurs within the specified time limits. It is also capable of testing the instantaneous tripping characteristics by applying currents ranging from 3 to 20 times the rated value to observe the response time. Additionally, it meets the 28-day continuous testing requirements specified by the standard.
It is suitable for online testing of molded case circuit breakers and miniature circuit breakers before leaving the factory. It is a necessary equipment for electrical performance testing of circuit breaker manufacturers.

Equipment Characteristics: The chamber body is fabricated from premium steel with welded construction, coated and sealed to provide anti-static, anti-corrosion, and rust-resistant protection. Its upper section integrates a user-friendly control panel, a main power switch, and multiple terminal connections dedicated to delayed tripping tests. With a rational design, the equipment ensures ease of use, stable performance, and an aesthetically pleasing appearance. For delayed tripping tests in accordance with IEC 60898-1 clauses 9.10.2.1 or 9.10.2.2, all three chambers of the SN2501-3C can be operated independently and simultaneously. Instantaneous tripping tests, as defined in IEC 60898-1 clauses 9.10.3.2 to 9.10.3.4, are conducted exclusively in Chamber 1.
Chamber 1, Chamber 2, and Chamber 3 are independent and can be freely combined for testing. Note: The delay and instant of box 1 cannot be tested at the same time. Chamber 1 instantaneous trip test and 28-day test cannot be performed at the same time.
Temperature rise and 28-day test procedure compatibility
The equipment is designed with flexibility and efficiency in mind. It fully supports simultaneous or independent execution of both the temperature rise test and the 28-day endurance test, either within the same chamber or across different chambers—meeting a wide variety of testing needs.
Each chamber operates independently, allowing for different test types to run simultaneously without interference. Equipped with a dedicated heating system, each chamber provides a precise temperature control range of RT+5°C to 50°C, ensuring that all test samples operate under stable, controlled ambient conditions. To further enhance accuracy, a three-point ambient temperature monitoring system is integrated into the design.
The intelligent software system offers maximum operational flexibility—any test program can be stopped at any stage, with all results automatically saved for later analysis. This greatly improves testing efficiency and provides full control to meet dynamic laboratory requirements.
