Bought to crush pills for my dog and it worked much better than I thought. The cover kept all the crumbs inside. Crushed pills easily. It looks good, is solid enough to withstand the constant pounding it will receive, and works very well. -James

Purchased this for the obvious, pill crushing. It stays in my barn where I occasionally have to give pills to horses. Horses aren’t like dogs to where you can just shove a pill down their throat. You have to crush the pills into powder and put on their food and even then it’s a pain in the butt. This pestle is strong and durable and works nicely. ---- Rozo
