【Production Process】
Nickel fiber is a special fiber with large specific surface area,
high tensile strength and good flexibility made from nickel wire
through complex processes such as surface treatment,bundling,
drawing and electrochemical separation.
【Performance Characteristics】
As a new type of material, nickel fiber combines the inherent
advantages of metallic nickel and the characteristics of fiber
materials, with high tensile strength and good flexibility.
【Application】
The electrodes of alkaline electrolyzers used to electrolyze water
for hydrogen production are currently mostly nickel-based materials
used in China, such as pure nickel mesh, nickel foam, or pure
nickel mesh or nickel foam as the base and sprayed with
high-activity catalysts. The use of nickel fiber felt as electrodes
has the characteristics of larger specific surface area, higher
tensile strength, and better flexibility than nickel mesh and
nickel foam electrodes in terms of thickness, pore size, unit
weight, and porosity.
Nickel fiber felt replaces nickel foam as the anode active material
skeleton material of MH-Ni batteries, which can increase the charge
and discharge times of MH-Ni batteries to thousands of times. At
the same time, it can withstand large current shocks and has the
characteristics of good voltage stability, large capacitance, large
filling amount of active materials, high utilization rate, low
internal resistance, and high plate strength. It is one of the main
targets for the current international development of electric
vehicle batteries.Therefore, using nickel fiber felt to replace
nickel foam has become a development direction of MH-Ni batteries.
