I. Introduction 

The Wire Finder Wireline is a wireline tool designed to locate and ball the end of the wireline in the well bore during “wireline fishing operations”.

Wire Finder Wireline is used in wireline fishing operations to locate and ball the upper end of broken wireline in the tubing. When the wire finder has located the end of the broken wire (weight loss witnessed) pressing down a minimal distance will ball the broken wire in the well bore. The wireline can than be engaged by a wireline grab and retrieved.

III. Structure characteristics 

The Wire Finder Wireline is a one piece tool which has a standard wireline fishing neck and threads

uppermost and a slotted skirt(fingers) down

The Wire finder Wireline OD can be altered by simply rotating the adjustable finder skirt over the tapered main body. The finder skirt is then locked into place at the desired running OD to suit the well geometry. The unique main body design provides extensive options of tool configuration. Interchangeable grab arms can be added and the tool can be run as a wire finder grab to locate and recover the wire in a single run. Incorporating a lead impression block, magnet or centre spear further extends the operating envelope of this unique system.
