Comen STAR8000C Patient Monitor Encoder Rotary Control Parts for Medical Device This is the encoder for the Comen STAR8000C. This encoder is original to the equipment and can be purchased as a replacement part for repairs. The encoder is an accessory located below the knob on the front of the device. It can be adjusted by rotating or pressing to perform functions such as adjusting alarm thresholds and menu selection. One end is a metal shaft, and the other end is a cable connecting to the main board. The circuit board in the middle performs simple signal processing before transmitting it to the main board. It is responsive and sensitive, ensuring accurate delivery and feedback of commands. 1. Output Operation Commands: Operation commands are output by rotating or pressing, allowing for page scrolling, value increment/decrement, or current page selection. Signals are transmitted to the main board to achieve the desired operation. 2. Operation Feedback: Each rotation of the encoder provides a clear "click" feedback. The moderate damping allows for precise control even while wearing gloves, preventing operation from being too fast or too slow. 3. Durable and Robust: The encoder is designed for high-frequency operations in hospitals and has passed numerous rotation tests. The shaft is not easily worn or slipped, making it suitable for the high-frequency operating environment of hospitals. 4. Stable Signal:The encoder's output digital signal has strong anti-interference capabilities and will not cause issues like "the menu jumping around even when the knob isn't touched" due to interference from other circuits within the device.
Q1: The knob is stuck and rotates erratically; is the encoder broken? A1: It's most likely due to worn or dusty contacts inside the encoder, causing unstable signal output. Replacing the encoder will solve the problem; you don't need to replace the entire panel.
Q2: It only rotates in one direction; the other doesn't respond. What's the problem? A2: This indicates a faulty single-channel signal line inside the encoder, causing it to only recognize rotation signals in one direction. Replacing the encoder is necessary to restore bidirectional operation.
Q3: The encoder and knob cap are loose; is the shaft broken? A3: Not necessarily. The encoder and knob cap can be disassembled. If only the knob cap and shaft are slipping, you can replace the knob cap. If the shaft itself is wobbling or spinning freely, then the encoder's internal structure is worn, and the encoder needs to be replaced. |
