The Carewell ECG-1112 Printer Assembly with Motor Gear Assembly is a modular integrated unit that serves as the core output module of the ECG-1112 series electrocardiograph. It combines five essential components into a single, field-replaceable assembly: a precision thermal print head, a stepping motor, a multi-stage gear drive train, a platen roller, and a paper tray bracket. Designed to OEM specifications, the assembly is pre-configured with matching mounting points, flex cable connectors.

Installation & Removal

Remove old unit:

• Power off, unplug AC, remove battery.

• Open the chassis and disconnect the 24‑pin ribbon cable, motor wire, paper sensor, and ground wire.

• Unscrew the retaining screws, then lift out the assembly.

Install new unit:

• Lower the new assembly into place, aligning mounting holes.

• Replace screws (and any tension springs exactly as they were).

• Reconnect all cables: ribbon, motor, sensor, ground.

• Close the chassis, reload paper, and run a test print at 25 mm/s.

Usage Precautions​

Paper – Use only 210/216 mm medical‑grade thermal paper. The coated side must face the print head.

Cleaning – Wipe the housing with 75% alcohol. Never immerse the assembly or let liquid enter the connectors or print head.

Jams – If paper jams, turn off the machine before clearing it. Never pull paper while the motor is running.

Wear signs – Faint or streaky printing after long use suggests head aging. Any grinding noise or uneven feed means the drive train needs inspection.

Storage – Keep spare paper in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.
