Description

The encoder of the Biocare IM12 monitor uses an optoelectronic or high-precision mechanical structure, providing a clear "gear feel" (click) and damping sensation. It's neither too loose to cause accidental triggering nor too tight to affect operation. Medical-grade encoders are typically designed for tens of thousands of cycles or even longer, with a robust and durable metal shaft that is not prone to breakage or poor contact. They also possess excellent electromagnetic interference resistance, ensuring no accidental triggering in complex medical electrical environments.

Applications:

- Parameter Adjustment and Confirmation: Used to adjust key parameters such as heart rate alarm limits, blood pressure measurement intervals, and blood oxygen saturation alarm values. In emergencies, nurses can quickly access the menu, select items, and confirm modifications using rotation and pressing actions.

- Waveform Optimization: Used to adjust the amplitude (gain) and scan speed of waveforms such as electrocardiograms (ECG) and respiratory waves, allowing doctors to more clearly observe waveform details and aiding in diagnosis.

- Menu Navigation: In multi-level system menus, rotation moves the cursor or scrolls the list, while pressing enters submenus or returns to the previous level.

- Alarm Mute/Reset: When an alarm is triggered, quickly pressing the knob silences the alarm or confirms the alarm status.

How to install?

1. Ensure the monitor is completely powered off and the power plug is unplugged. If it is battery-powered, remove the batteries.

2. Wear an anti-static wrist strap or gloves before operation.

3. Unscrew the screws securing the monitor casing and locate the encoder, located behind the knob.

4. Disconnect the connecting cable, unscrew the screws on the board, and remove the old encoder.

5. Insert the new encoder into its original position, tighten the screws, and connect the connecting cable and knob.

6. Perform a safety test without closing the casing. After the test, close the casing, tighten the screws, and the installation is complete.
