Product Description

The motherboard of the Welch Allyn Spot Vital Signs Lxi vital signs monitor (part numbers 707409, 94v-D 3-1, 1337, and 403912) is the device's core control unit. It integrates the main processor, memory, communication interfaces, and module driver circuits. It coordinates the operation of all functional modules, including NIBP, SpO2, and temperature, and serves as the device's "brain."

The motherboard connects to other device components, such as the parameter panel, NIBP board, SPO2 board, and power management board, through multiple interfaces. It also provides a USB debugging port and external communication interfaces for data exchange and system upgrades.

Key Features
  • 1. System Control and Coordination

The motherboard is responsible for running the device's operating system, scheduling the operating sequence of each module, and ensuring the smooth operation of functions such as NIBP measurement, SPO2 board, and temperature collection.

  • 2. Data Processing and Storage

The motherboard receives measurement data from each module, runs core algorithms for analysis, and ultimately generates clinical parameters such as systolic blood pressure and SpO2. It also features a memory card capable of storing 1,000 complete measurement records (including all parameters, timestamps, and patient types). It supports date-based querying and deletion of individual or all records, and data retention for 10 years or longer after a power outage.

  • 3. Communication and Interaction Management

Data is exchanged with the NIBP board, SPO2 board, power management board, and other components via an internal bus, with transmission rates up to 1 Mbps, ensuring real-time performance. Processed measurement results, device status, and other information are converted into signals that can be displayed on the display screen, providing operator information.

  • 4. Fault Diagnosis and Safety Protection

The device monitors the operating status of each module in real time. When an anomaly is detected, an alarm is triggered and an error code is displayed on the panel.

A built-in hardware protection circuit automatically restarts the device within 10 seconds to resume normal operation if a system program fails.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: What symptoms might a motherboard failure cause?
A1: A motherboard failure can cause: the device to fail to boot; no display or unresponsive panel buttons after booting; all modules to fail to function (e.g., NIBP and blood oximetry measurements); frequent automatic restarts or freezes; and lost or inability to save stored records.
Q2: Can measurement records stored on the motherboard be exported?
A2: Yes. Connect the device to a computer via USB and install the appropriate data management software. Records can be exported in CSV or PDF format, including parameter values, measurement time, device ID, and other information for easy data collection and archiving.
Q3: What if the motherboard program crashes or the firmware is corrupted?
A3: Firmware recovery can be performed via the USB port. Download the corresponding firmware file and use the Welch Upgrade Tool to force-flash the motherboard's flash memory to restore the system program. Do not disconnect the power supply during the upgrade process, as this may damage the motherboard.
