Power supply

Savina runs on mains power or an internal battery. Savina can be powered by an external battery or built-in DC power supply. An external battery

is also used as a power source during patient transport.

Savina is designed for connection to the hospital's mains power supply.

Connecting the power supply

Prerequisites: – Installation and connection by service personnel only. – The poles of the DC vehicle power supply must be protected against

contact

Warn

Risk of patient injury If the poles of the DC vehicle power supply are not protected against contact, excessive patient leakage currents may result.

Prevent poles from touching.

RISK OF EQUIPMENT DAMAGE - Do not connect mains powered equipment to the external battery connector. – Only external batteries included

in the accessories list can be connected. – Only use the connecting cables listed in the accessories list.

The plug on the device side of the connecting cable is coded. This allows Savina to detect if an external battery or DC vehicle power supply is connected.

Failure of the power supply

If the power supply fails, Savina generates a power supply failure alarm. The ventilation settings and the alarm limits remain saved even in the

event of a power supply failure

• Restore the power supply immediately
• Disconnect patient from the device and continue ventilation without delay using another independent ventilator.
