Working principle The operating principle for each biological parameter is as follows.
(1) Electrocardiogram (ECG) and respiratory rate It directly senses and amplifies changes in the current flowing through the heart via the ECG electrodes and records them as waveforms. Measure the thoracic impedance between its two electrodes placed on the patient's chest. The impedance change between its two electrodes due to chest movement causes a respiration waveform to appear on the screen, and the cycles of the waveform are counted to calculate the respiration rate.
(2) Pulse Oximeter (SpO2) Visible and infrared light are emitted from the pulse oximeter probe, and the reflectance of the visible/infrared light, respectively, of the whole blood is measured. Since oxyhemoglobin and reduced hemoglobin have different absorbances of visible light/infrared light, oxygen saturation and the like are calculated from a comparison of the measured reflectances of visible light/infrared light.
(3) non-invasive blood pressure (PNB) Blood pressure is measured by squeezing/relaxing a blood vessel with a cuff and sensing the presence or absence of blood flow using an oscillometric method.
(4) body temperature The temperature change is measured as the resistance change of the temperature sensor thermistor.
(5) Invasive blood pressure Blood pressure is measured with a blood pressure transducer.
(6) Respiratory carbon dioxide (CO2) concentration Using an accessory, the sampled carbon dioxide is irradiated with infrared rays, and the carbon dioxide concentration is determined by the amount of infrared rays absorbed.
[Usage function or effect] This product is a unit that collects various monitoring parameters using accessories and displays them by bed or by patient. This product can be connected to a central monitor, but can also work alone. Monitoring parameters include electrocardiogram/respiration, arterial oxygen saturation, non-invasive blood pressure, body temperature, invasive blood pressure and exhaled carbon dioxide, and important parameters such as arrhythmia and apnea are detected. It also functions as a plug-in unit for multi-item tracking and its own telemetry receiver.
