NBP Introduction

Oscillometric using stepwise deflation pressure

• Adult/pediatric measurement range

– Systolic: 30 – 255 mmHg

– Diastolic: 15 – 220 mmHg

– Mean: 20 – 235 mmHg

• Neonatal measurement range

– Systolic: 30 – 135 mmHg

– Diastolic: 15 – 110 mmHg

– Mean: 20 – 125 mmHg

• Blood pressure accuracy: ±5 mmHg

• Pulse rate accuracy: ±2

Removing the NBP Module

Caution :After replacing the NBP module, you must reset the NBP cycle count and run the NBP test

Step :

• Separate the front and rear monitor case assemblies
• Remove the main board assembly
• Remove the front end assembly
• Remove the two Torx T10 screws and washers from the metal bracket holding the NBP module assembly to the bottom of the main board

• Lift the NBP module and gently pull it free from the pressure sensor tube connectors

• Disconnect the 6-pin connector from the main board and remove the NBP module.

Removing the NBP Filter

• Separate the front and rear monitor case assemblies
• Remove the main board assembly
• Remove the front end assembly
• Remove the NBP module
• Use wire cutters to cut the plastic zip tie securing the filter to the module, and disconnect the filter from the NBP filter tube

Caution: When you replace the NBP filter, secure it to the NBP module with a new plastic zip tie.

Identify NBP hardware modules

The VM series patient monitors support two types of NBP hardware modules: PHiliphhilip and CAS. The steps to monitor NBP are the same whether the monitor contains a PHiliphhilip or CASNBP module. However, the upper and lower limits of PHiliphhilipysiological NBP alarms, the conditions that lead to technical NBP alarms, and the range of initial inflation pressure settings are different for the PHiliphhilip and CASNBP modules.

Step :

1. Rotate the wheel until the System button is highlighted.

2. Press the wheel key. The System menu appears.

3. View the Configuration settings. The type of NBP module appears as one of the following:

NBP-P - PHiliphhilip NBP Module

NBP-C-CAS NBP Module
