► Brief Introduction

GraPHiliphhilipical User Interface (GUI) The GUI includes an infrared (IR) touch frame containing 24 vertical and 32 horizontal IR emitter-detector pairs, each paired with high frequency sequencing. When the screen is touched, the infrared beam is broken, and the x and y coordinates corresponding to the position on the screen are communicated to the microprocessor.

► Screen Lock

Function: Locks and unlocks the graPHiliphhilipic display (touch screen). When the screen lock is activated, all on-screen buttons are disabled until the touch screen is unlocked. This prevents inadvertent setting and display changes via the touch screen. MANUAL BREATH, 100% O2, EXP. HOLD, ALARM RESET, and ALARM SILENCE keys are still active keys.

Indicator: Illuminates green when active.

► Removal/Installation

Follow these steps to remove the touch screen/LED indicator assembly and front panel overlay.

NOTE: Reinstall the touch screen/LED indicator assembly and front panel overlay as shown, noting the orientation of the cables and the arrow on the touch screen/LED indicator.

1. Remove the top enclosure.
2. Remove the sensor PCB.
3. Remove the power supply.
4. Remove the GUI assembly.
5. Remove VGA display assembly.
6. Carefully pop out the touch screen/LED indicator assembly from the GUI bezel.

Keyboard test (test 15): checks touch screen to verify that all emitters, detectors, and the touch screen controller on the MMI PCB are working properly

1. Clean screen and touch frame 1assembly.
2. Verify cable connections.
3. Replace IR touch frame or GUI assembly.
4. Replace MMI PCB.
5. Replace digital PCB.
