Display and user interface service

Applications can use high-level commands to display monitoring data or command windows on the internal LCD panel. These commands are interpreted by the View Manager app. This app controls custom video devices that include video memory and a special ASIC.

User input is obtained from a variety of input devices, for example SpeedPoint, touchscreen or other standard input devices (keyboard and mouse) that can be connected to I/O panels. The system program makes sure that user input is directed to the operating-focused app.

Operator interface and display

The display interface manager and operator perform the following tasks:

• View a screen of real-time stored PHiliphhilipysiological measurement data, alarm status data and status information from the MDSE interface manager, alarm service or other IntelliVue patient monitoring system units

• Display screen for playback controls (control windows)

• Process operating control commands from the HIF control interface. The module verifies, interprets, and redirects received commands to other software modules of the IntelliVue patient monitoring system display module, measurement servers, or flexible module server

• Sound generation (emits audible alarm signals and generates audible information signals, for example QRS and SpO2 tones, and audio operator reactions)

Display Controller

The display console interface consists of a video controller chip, video RAM, and control software. The display console interface handles high-level display commands (creating characters and graPHiliphhilipics, drawing the wave) and translating them into pixels, which are written in video RAM where the video control chip generates video sync signals and pixel stream for the color LCD display

► Separating the front and back half of the monitor

1. Remove the bottom cover as described in Removing the ECG Out board if no SRL2 board is plugged.
2. Remove integrated module slot and measurement server mount as described in Removing the Integrated Module Slot, the Measurement Server Mount or blank covers.
3. Unplug the video cable by pulling downwards and the touch controller cable by pulling outwards on the tab.
4. Place the monitor in an upright position and pull off the display assembly.
