The Handheld Digital Display Adjustable Optical
Attenuator
The U8631 handheld digital display adjustable optical attenuator
can continuously and variably attenuate optical signals. This
device is mainly used for online testing of laser systems. It is
applicable to digital system applications including communication
equipment (SDH synchronization and PDH quasi-synchronization) as
well as systems that adopt analog modulation (CATV).

Functions and Features
U8631 uses a neutral-density filter to attenuate the optical
signal. The attenuation is achieved by rotating the rotating dial
on the front panel of the instrument, with the attenuation range
being between 2.5 and 60dB.
