In warehouses, storage racks are usually designed standing free with stable structure. To increase structural stability and safety, some safety products are commonly required for additional support. 

Major rack safety products

Aisle connector, also called frame portal tie or cross-aisle tie, though not as popular as rack protectors or row spacers, but still plays an essential role in some kind of storage solution systems.

Engineered with rectangular tubes or box beams, the horizontal portal tie can connect two top opposing rack frames together spanning across the racking aisle space. Providing extra strength and steadiness to the rack system, frame portal tie is often seen in the following situation.

1. In the VNA racking system, the upright frames are often very high with maximum height over 8 meters. For these high bay racks, frame portal ties are applied to the system connecting adjacent frames together for better overall performance. 

2. In warehouses, pallet racks are usually configurated with back-to-back layout. However, in some circumstances, a single row racks can be spotted standing alone which may be not stable enough with relatively high frames. In this case, aisle connectors are helpful by joining the single row racks with the back-to-back row racks creating a steady entirety.
