Rotork is the home of the flagship IQ intelligent electric actuator range. The IQ range features
legendary innovations including Rotork's unique double-sealed
enclosure, ‘non-intrusive' commissioning, and predictive
maintenance capabilities. More recent innovations include control
and commissioning via a Rotork app, Bluetooth® Setting Tool Pro, or
local control knobs. All IQ3 Pro actuators have in-built data
loggers that can be downloaded to the app, then exported to Insight
2 or sent via Rotork’s cloud-based intelligent asset management
(iAM) system.
The IQ functionality and reliability is available for valves of
virtually every size and description, including multi-turn
(rotary), quarter-turn, isolating and modulating, with watertight
and hazardous area approvals to all internationally recognised
standards.
Electric actuator ranges also include the AWT for simplified control duties, ROM, ROMpak and Q direct drive actuators for small quarter-turn valves.
Rotork actuators are compatible with a wide range of communication
and process control systems. Rotork's own Pakscan™ system offers advanced actuator network control similar to network
control from Profibus®, Foundation Fieldbus®, Modbus®, DeviceNet® and HART®.
PAX units are flexible, low voltage actuators that are designed for
use in remote, explosionproof locations. They are ideal for
midstream and downstream systems that demand precision and
reliability, such as within natural gas. Many PAX actuators have
been supplied to gas utility companies at natural gas pressure
reducing stations to provide automation. This eliminates expensive
manual field operation. PAX technology provides simple and rapid
compliance to emissions guidelines. They are also suitable for use
within water distribution automation networks.
The wider PAX range is made up of linear actuators and motorised
regulators. Common applications include pump stroke control, valve
control, test equipment and the automation of mechanical
spring-loaded pressure regulators. PAX1 linear actuators are
low-powered; their use dramatically reduces power usage while
maintaining position. This low power benefit makes them an
environmentally sensible choice, while simultaneously increasing
the efficiency of pilot operated valve automation within natural
gas and water distribution systems.
The AC power variant allows for longer cable runs without
degradation of the power supply.
