NVIDIA MFP7E10-N030 30m MPO12/APC Multimode Cable NVIDIA® Mellanox® Compatible Passive Optical Cable for 800G
InfiniBand and Ethernet 30-meter | 8-fiber active | OM3 (OM4 optional) | LSZH | Type B
crossover High-density passive optical link for 400G/800G InfiniBand and
Ethernet. Directly connects twin‑port OSFP switches to OSFP or
QSFP112 adapters over 30 meters — the maximum reach for OM3 fiber. OEM lengths 3m-50m available Product Overview The NVIDIA MFP7E10-Nxxx series is a passive
MPO‑12/APC‑to‑MPO‑12/APC multimode fiber cable engineered for
short‑reach interconnects in high‑performance data centers. The MFP7E10-N030 (30 meter variant) uses eight active fibers in a Type‑B crossover
topology to enable direct attached optical link without polarity
reversal adapters. With angled physical contact (APC) 8‑degree
polish, back reflections are minimized, ensuring signal integrity
for PAM4 modulation up to 800Gb/s. Each cable is factory‑tested to Telcordia GR‑1435 and supports
operating temperatures from 0 to 70°C. The aqua LSZH jacket
provides flame retardance while reducing toxic smoke emission,
suitable for high‑density switches and GPU clusters. At 30 meters,
this cable represents the maximum recommended distance for OM3
fiber with two patch panel junctions (total 4 mated pairs). For
distances beyond 30m, please select OM4 variants (N035-N050). Key Facts
Why MPO‑12/APC? Angle‑polished connectors suppress back reflection that would
otherwise degrade laser performance in high‑speed transceivers.
Unlike ultra‑polished (UPC) versions, APC allows reliable operation
at 50G PAM4 per lane. The green NVIDIA shell quickly identifies APC
compatibility, preventing mismating with legacy blue‑shell UPC
cables. Type‑B crossover: Lane 1 at one end connects to lane 12 at the opposite end — ideal
for 4‑lane Tx/Rx pairing without external crossover cords. Technology & Signal Integrity Designed for 800G DR8 / 400G DR4 architectures, each cable contains
8 multimode fibers arranged in a crossed pinout. The 8‑degree APC
interface reduces optical return loss to >35dB, critical for
high baud rate transceivers such as NVIDIA MMA4Z00‑NS (twin‑port
OSFP). The passive design consumes zero power and introduces no
latency, making it ideal for switch‑to‑switch or switch‑to‑DPU
links in NDR InfiniBand fabrics. Rigorous end‑face geometry testing and IL/RL verification ensure
each cable meets the stringent requirements of modern 800G Ethernet
and NVLink fabric extensions. The 30-meter length is fully tested
to operate within the 800G optical budget even after accounting for
insertion loss from two patch panels. Typical Deployments
Compatibility The MFP7E10‑N030 works with any transceiver or system that accepts
MPO‑12/APC female connectors and expects Type‑B pinout. Verified
compatibility includes:
⚠ Important note: This cable cannot mate with MPO‑12/UPC (ultra polish, blue shell)
connectors. Mixed use will damage ferrule end faces and cause link
failure. Technical Specifications
Selection Guide (MFP7E10‑Nxxx Series)
Note: For lengths above 30m, OM4 fiber is required to guarantee 50m
reach. MFP7E10-N030 ships with OM3 fiber by default, which supports
800G up to 30 meters including two patch panels (4 mated connector
pairs). For additional margin, OM4 is available upon request. Why Choose Starsurge for NVIDIA Optical Cables?
Service & Support Hong Kong Starsurge Group offers a 1‑year warranty against
manufacturing defects, plus 24‑hr engineering response. We provide
cleaning and inspection guidance to maintain optimal insertion
loss. For deployment over 30m or custom hybrid cables (MPO to
duplex), please contact our solutions team. Frequently Asked Questions Q1: Is MFP7E10-N030 guaranteed for 800G at full 30 meters? A: Yes. When used with NVIDIA MMA4Z00-NS transceivers and two patch
panels (4 mated pairs), the link is within the specified optical
budget. For longer distances or additional patch panels, we
recommend the OM4 version. Q2: Can I use OM4 fiber instead of OM3 for this length? A: Yes, OM4 provides additional loss margin. Please specify OM4
when ordering if you require enhanced performance or plan future
moves to longer distances. Q3: Is the cable polarity suitable for NVIDIA Quantum‑2 switches? A: Yes. Type‑B (crossover) is the standard polarity required by
NVIDIA for direct 800G twin‑port OSFP to OSFP connections. Q4: What is the difference between MFP7E10 and MFP7E20? A: MFP7E10 is multimode (MMF), MFP7E20 is single‑mode (SMF). For
distances ≤50m, multimode is cost‑effective; beyond 50m, select
MFP7E20 single‑mode cable. Q5: Do you provide a cleaning kit recommendation? A: Yes. We suggest using an MPO‑12/APC dry cleaner (e.g.,
CLICK‑Clean or IBC brand) before each mating. Handling Precautions
