Zero-Degree Spiral Gear Multi-Tooth Meshing Less Axial Forces
Zero-degree spiral gears belong to a special form of
spiral gears. It has a spiral angle of zero degrees,
which means that the spiral direction of its teeth is perpendicular
to the axis of the gear. From the outside, its teeth look like spur
gears, but in fact it combines some of the characteristics of spur
gears and spiral gears.
Characristics:
1.Good stability: Although the spiral angle is zero, it can still be like
a spiral gear in the meshing process, to achieve multiple
pairs of teeth at the same time, compared with ordinary spur gears,
it can transmit power more smoothly and reduce vibration and noise.
This is because the load is shared between multiple pairs of teeth
as the gear rotates, resulting in a more uniform transmission of
force.
2.High load capacity: Because multiple pairs of teeth participate in the work at the
same time, the load on each tooth is relatively small, so the zero
degree spiral gear can bear a larger load than the ordinary
spur gear, which is suitable for some occasions with high
requirements for load capacity.
3.Less axial force: Unlike ordinary spiral gears, zero-degree spiral gears
have zero spiral angles, so the axial forces generated when
transferring power are very small. This feature gives it an
advantage in some transmission systems where large axial forces are
not desired, reducing the requirement for axial positioning devices
and simplifying the system structure.
