Custom M37/120 Medium Mechanical Seal For Chemical Pump
The selection of structural type of mechanical seals is an important step in the selection process. Before selection, the following parameters must be investigated:
  • Working parameters: pressure p (MPa), working temperature T (°C), working speed V (m/s), sealing shaft diameter d (mm)
  • Medium characteristics: concentration, viscosity, corrosion, solid particles and fiber impurities, whether prone to gasification or crystallization
  • Host working characteristics: continuous or intermittent operation with environmental conditions
  • Host allowable seal leakage, leakage direction (internal or external), life and reliability requirements
  • Host structural size limitations for the seal
Preparation Requirements
  • Shaft Outside Diameter is within tolerance ±0.05mm
  • Shaft run out <0.1mm
  • Shaft end float <0.13mm
  • No sharp edges on the shaft over the O-ring
Note: During installation, do not scratch or damage the O-ring. If anything is damaged, please contact us to replace with a new one.
Installation Instructions
  • The full set of cartridge seal is cleaned and exactly passed leakage examination before sale. To avoid damage, do not disassemble and clean the parts again before fixing.
  • The fitting allowance between the seal and shaft is dl h6 0.8, and there should be leading-in edge at the end of shaft. The outside diameter of shaft at the position of screw should be 01 0.2mm smaller, resisting the screw over-tighten. Lubricate the shaft with oil.
  • Place the cartridge seal into the pump chamber, then:
    • Tighten four screw bolts of flanges, ensuring the medium leading in hole "G" at the top position
    • Tighten four set screws and position the shaft sleeve on the shaft
    • Remove four gauge plates. Please keep them as they will be used in future installation and disassembly
    • Connect the medium lead-in pipe with hole "G" to flush away friction heat and flush the seal chamber when pump is running
Note: After complete installation, turn the shaft by hand to check for rotation. If the shaft does not rotate smoothly, the seal has been improperly installed.
