1.Product Introduction
Kaolin Drying and Calcining Equipment is an integrated industrial system designed for the deep processing of kaolin. By removing surface moisture through drying and
eliminating structural water and organic impurities via high-temperature calcination, the system significantly enhances the whiteness, porosity, and chemical stability of the kaolin. These systems are widely utilized in high-end
manufacturing sectors, including ceramics, papermaking, and coatings.
2.Application
The equipment system typically comprises a Drying Unit and a
Calcining Unit, each performing distinct critical tasks:
Drying: Reducing the moisture content of wet-processed kaolin slurry
from as high as 30%–50% to below 5%. This prevents particle bursting caused by rapid moisture
vaporization during subsequent high-temperature treatment.
Calcination: Heating the dehydrated kaolin at high temperatures
between 900°C and 1100°C. This process transforms the crystal structure from amorphous
to metakaolin while burning off carbonaceous and organic impurities,
significantly enhancing whiteness and reactivity.
The final product is fine-powdered calcined kaolin, characterized
by high specific surface area, strong adsorption, and excellent
insulation properties. It serves as an essential raw material for
high-end ceramic glazes, paper coating pigments, and eco-friendly
adsorbent materials.
3.Working Principle
Application: Ideal for large-scale, continuous production lines.
Operational Features: The drum is installed at a slight incline. Materials enter
from the upper end and are discharged from the lower end during
slow rotation, ensuring uniform heat distribution.
Configuration: Frequently integrated with pre-dryers (such as rotary drum dryers) to form a streamlined, all-in-one "Drying + Calcining" workflow.
Control Precision: Equipped with a PLC-based automated control system to precisely regulate temperature profiles and retention time, guaranteeing consistent and stable product quality.
