Cogging Test System
The Precision Motive Cogging Test System is an
advanced standalone system designed to control and measure various
types of torque including Detent Torque, Cogging Torque, and
Friction Torque.
The Test System includes a precision geared motor, which drives the
MUT (Motor Under Test) at a speed range from 1 to 10 rpm (other
options available as well).
JT Series Torque Sensor
The Cogging Test System incorporates JT Series Torque Sensors that
integrate a 5 000 pulses encoder to measure various types of
torques. The JT Sensors from JT101 to JT303 have built-in clutches
for security from overload by mishandling when not in use.
Torque Measurement
The Test System's torque measurement covers a range up to 2 N∙m
(depending on the selected torque sensor). The accuracy of the
torque measurement for JT101 - 10 mN∙m and JT303 - 3000 mN∙m is ±
0.1 mN∙m.
Software
The executable software controls the system and displays acquired
data. It provides accurate peak-to-peak measurement of cogging
torque and displays X-Y or polar graphs as well as FFT analysis.
The software allows the storage of measured data and provides
comparison of performance data by overlaying up to 5 graphs. A
cursor can be used to read accurate values from measurement points.
Measured parameters can be saved as a text file TXT.
For better accuracy and function control, the software includes a
zero offset adjustment routine that checks transducer signals over
a complete turn (with test sample MUT not connected to the system).
