Notices: What are the differences between STN and FSTN LCD types?

STN is 180~270 degree twist, FSTN, DSTN, and CSTN are all STN, but because the appearance of ordinary STN is generally yellow-green or blue, while the appearance of FSTN and DSTN is black or white.

FSTN is STN with film compensation (Film compensated STN),

DSTN uses a double STN structure to achieve black and white display,

CSTN is generally a FSTN structure with a color filter film to achieve color display.

Dot matrix screens are mainly classified as liquid crystal displays using STN or FSTN.

STN (Super Twisted Nematic) uses an electric field to change the arrangement of liquid crystal molecules that are originally twisted by more than 180 degrees, thereby changing the optical rotation state.

The external electric field changes the electric field by scanning line by line.

In the process of repeated changes in voltage by the electric field, the recovery process of each point is slow, thus generating an afterglow.
