Hook salvage tools are mainly used to salvage cables
that have fallen off in the well, wire ropes that have fallen into
the well, and other rope and cable objects.
Internal Hook Basic Structure:
The basic structure consists of a joint, a hook body,
and a hook tip. Hook salvage tools mainly include internal hooks,
external hooks, internal and external combined hooks, single-tooth
hooks, multi-tooth hooks, and movable-tooth hooks.
Internal Hook Working Principle:
The hook body is inserted into the rope and cable to
scrape the rope and cable, and the drill string is rotated to form
a entanglement to achieve salvage.
Internal Hook Usage:
1. The hook should be firm, and the movable-tooth hook
fixing pin should meet the requirements.
2. When the tool enters the well and is 1 to 2 meters above
the fish, record the hanging weight of the pipe string.
3. Slowly lower the pipe string to insert the hook body into
the fish, and rotate the drill string at the same time. Note that
the hanging weight does not drop more than 20kN.
4. The hanging weight rises, indicating that the fish has
been hooked, otherwise repeat the insertion and rotation until it
is caught.
5. Be careful not to pull up too fast or too hard.
6. A safety joint must be connected above the fishing hook.
Internal Hook Precautions:
1. In order to prevent the formation of a "wire piston" and
cause the drill to get stuck, a larger diameter anti-stuck joint
can be connected to the joint or an anti-stuck disc can be added
between the joint and the hook body.
2. Sometimes, in order to complete special fishing, one of
the hooks of the inner hook can be cut off or the hook body of the
outer hook can be offset to the axis and the angle between the hook
tips can be adjusted to use it as an eccentric fishing hook, which
can achieve good results.
3. Before drilling, a short section with holes should be
connected between the tool and the drill string as a well washing
channel.
4. During the fishing operation, the location of the fish
can be found by measuring the natural potential and resistance. The
fishing depth should be gradually increased from 50m from the top
of the fish. The fishing depth should be gradually increased by
5-8m after slowing down for many times, and the fishing depth
should be gradually deepened by 1-3 circles every time it is
lowered by 3-5m, and then lifted by 5-8m. The method of gradual
deepening, slight pressure and lifting, and multiple fishing should
never be blindly lowered quickly or increased drilling pressure for
fishing.
5. If the rope-like objects have been compacted and cannot
be salvaged with hook tools, you can use the milling pipe column to
compact part of the objects and then mill the parts, and then use
the inner and outer hooks to salvage.
6. When salvaging in an open hole, start the pump to
circulate and flush the fish head before lowering the fish head; it
should also be circulated during the open hole drilling process to
prevent the entangled cable from scraping the well wall and piling
up the rock cuttings and mud cakes to form a piston, causing the
drill to get stuck or causing overflow, etc.
7. During the process of hook salvage and drilling, if the
window point or the casing diameter change point is limited,
prevent the casing from being damaged or the salvaged cable from
being scraped and falling into the well again.
8. When using the inner rope scooper under the drill pipe
for salvage, its outer diameter must be large enough (8-10mm
smaller than the inner diameter of the casing), and the cable is
not allowed to pass the rope scooper.
9. Hook salvage tools must be connected to the safety joint
on the tool to prevent them from getting stuck and unable to be
removed.
