【 Performance Characteristics 】

White granular or powder, showing a density of 0.35-0.90G/CM3, melting point 622 degrees Celsius.

It is easily soluble in water, the aqueous solution is alkaline, and the PH of 1% aqueous solution is 9.7.

It is gradually hydrolyzed into phosphite in water, and has good ionic ability of metal complexation.

It can be complexed with calcium/magnesium/iron and

other metal ions to produce soluble complexes. It softens hard water. As a kind of inorganic surfactant,

it has some properties of organic surfactant.

【 Purpose 】

Mainly used for synthetic detergent as an additive/soap agent and to prevent bar soap grease precipitation and

frosting. It has a strong emulsifying effect on lubricating oil and fat, and can be used to

adjust the PH value of buffer soap liquid, industrial water softener/tanning and

pre-tanning agent/dyeing agent/paint/kaolin/magnesium oxide/calcium carbonate and

other industries to prepare suspension as a dispersant, drilling mud dispersant,

and paper industry as an anti-oil agent.

The uses of sodium tripolyphosphate in industrial manufacturing

1.Detergent industry (Core uses)
Detergent

When compounded with surfactants (such as LAS), it enhances the decontamination power and prevents the redeposition of dirt.

Soften hard water, chelate Ca²⁺ and Mg²⁺, and enhance the washing effect.

Alternative technologies for phosphorus-free detergents

Due to environmental restrictions (eutrophication), it has been banned in some countries, but it is still widely used in industrial cleaning agents.

2. Food processing (food-grade STPP)
Moisture retention agent

It is used for meat and seafood (such as ham and fish balls) to enhance water retention and improve taste.

Inhibit fat oxidation and extend the shelf life.

Quality improver

Enhance elasticity in noodles and canned food to prevent starch from aging.

3. Industrial water treatment
Water softener and scale inhibitor

It is used in boiler water and circulating cooling water systems to prevent Ca/Mg scaling.

Chelate metal ions such as Fe³⁺ and Cu²⁺ to reduce pipeline corrosion.

Dispersant

Prevent particle aggregation in papermaking and ceramic slurries.
