The melt flow rate testing instrument (melt flow indexer) professionally tests thermoplastics' melt flow rate under specified conditions.

Melt flow rate (melt index) of thermoplastics is the melt mass/volume flowing through a standard capillary die every 10 min, denoted as MFR, differing from molten-state viscosity.
