2. Core Function & Operating Principle
Function
- Widely applied in refrigerated air dryers, low-temperature cold
storage rooms and small refrigeration units to stabilize
evaporating pressure. It prevents low-pressure issues including
compressor frosting, liquid slugging and overload shutdown
protection.
- When system load drops and evaporating pressure falls below the
set value, the valve opens automatically. It bypasses
high-temperature discharge gas from the compressor to the
evaporator inlet to raise pressure and temperature on the
low-pressure side.
Operating Logic
1. Full-load normal operation: The valve remains fully closed when
evaporating pressure exceeds the set point, with no bypass flow.
2. Low-load operation: Once evaporating pressure drops below the
set threshold, the diaphragm pushes the valve plug open to feed hot
discharge gas into the low-pressure circuit.
3. Top adjustment knob: Rotate it to change spring preload and
adjust the valve opening pressure.

5. Installation & Operation Notes ⚠️
1. Piping layout: Connect one tube to compressor discharge line,
the other to evaporator inlet; route the equalizer tube to the
evaporator low-pressure side.
2. Brazing protection: Wrap the valve body with wet cloth during
welding to avoid high-temperature damage to internal diaphragm
components.
3. Pressure adjustment: Turn the adjustment cap clockwise to raise
opening pressure; turn counterclockwise to lower opening pressure.
4. Refrigerant compatibility: Compatible with common refrigerants
including R22, R404A and R134a; maximum working pressure 400 PSIG.
