A Force Sensor is a transducer that converts mechanical load into
mV signal proportional to the applied force. The acting force
causes deformation of the measuring element, the bonded strain gage
deforms accordingly which will cause the resistance change of the
wheatstone bridge, under constant power supply, the output signal
between Sig+ and Sig- will change proportionally, thus the
load/force can be measured by measuring the output signal from the
transducer.
Load cell output: = (Power supply * Rated output) * Load / Capacity
Rated output of Flange Type Thrust Sensor FFA is normally around
2.0mV/V.
Power supply of Flange Type Thrust Force Transducer FFA is
normally within 3-15V.
Load / Capacity is within 0-1.
So the output range of Flange Mounted Thrust Force Sensor FFA is
normally within 0…+30mV(-30mV...+30mV for Pull And Press Force
Measurement).
Example one: Flanged Thrust Force Load Cell FFA-5KN with 2.0mV/V
sensitivity powered by 5V DC,the output range is -10mV...+10mV.
Example two: Tension Compression Load Cell FFA-500kg with 1.9mV/V
rated output powered by 10V DC, the output range is -19mV...+19mV.
The mV/V output from the wheatstone bridge sometimes can hardly be
processed directly, a signal conditioner can be used with the load
cell to deliver -5~5V, 0-10V or 4-20mA output.
Example one: Flange Type Thrust Force Sensor FFA-2kN working with
amplifier FSC(0-10V)-24V,the Force-Voltage relationship will be
0-2KN compression force VS 0-10V output, which is linear
regardless of the measurement error, 1V output corresponds to 200N
thrust load, 2V output corresponds to 400N thrust load, and so
on.
Example two: Flange Mounted Thrust Transducer FFA-1kN working
with amplifier FSC(4-20mA)-24V,the Force-Current relationship will
be 0-1000N thrust force VS 4-20mA output, which is linear
regardless of the measurement error, 4mA output corresponds to “0”
load, 5.6mA output corresponds to 100N thrust load, 12mA
output corresponds to 500N thrust load, and so on.
