A Force Sensor is a transducer that converts mechanical load into
mV signal proportional to the applied force.The acting force causes
deformation of the measuring element,the bonded strain gage deforms
accordingly which will cause the resistance change of the
wheatstone bridge,under constant power supply, the output signal
between Sig+ and Sig- will change proportionally,thus the
load/force can be measured by measuring the output signal from the
transducer.
LOutput signal of load cell and amplifier:
Load cell output: = (Power supply * Rated output) * Load / Capacity
Rated output of Flanged Force Transducer FFG is normally around
2.0mV/V.
Power supply of Flange Type Force Sensor FFG is normally within
3-15V.
Load / Capacity is within 0-1.
So the output range of Traction/Compression Force Sensor FFG is
normally within -30mV…+30mV.
Example one: Tensile Compressive Force Transducer FFG-50N with
2.0mV/V sensitivity powered by 10V DC,the output range is
-20mV...+20mV.
Example two: Tension And Compression Load Cell FFG-20N with 2.0mV/V
rated output powered by 5V DC,the output range is -10mV...+10mV.
The mV/V output from the wheatstone bridge sometimes can hardly be
processed directly, a signal conditioner can be used with the load
cell to deliver -5~5V, 0-10V or 4-20mA output.
Example one: Flange Type Tension Compression Sensor FFG-200N
working with amplifier FSC(-10-10V)-24V,the Load-Voltage
relationship will be 0-200N compression force VS 0-10V output,
0-200N tensile force VS 0-(-10V) output, which is linear regardless
of the measurement error, 1V output corresponds to 20N compressive
load, (-2V) output corresponds to 40N tension load, and so on.
Example two: Cylindrical Tension and Compression Load Cell FFG-200N
working with amplifier FSC(4-12-20mA)-24V,the Force-Current
relationship will be 0-200N compression force VS 12-20mA output,
0-200N tension force VS 12-4mA, which is linear regardless of the
measurement error, 12mA output corresponds to “0” load, 12.8mA
output corresponds to 20N compressive load, 8mA output corresponds
to 200N tensile load, and so on.
