Test principles

 

A full alternating, cyclic dynamic load Fo, in the plane of the wheel and perpendicular to the axis of the fork riser, was applied to a load carrying device that rotated on the pivot of the fork joint. The test cycle is 100,000 cycles and the test force values are shown in Table 9. The maximum test frequency is described in ISO 4210- 3:2014, 4.5.

If the maximum displacement at the point of application exceeds 20% for rigid forks (40% for shock forks), the test is terminated. (See ISO 4210- 3:2014, 4.6)

After 100000 runs, stop the test and carefully inspect the sample for cracks. If cracks are found, terminate the test.

If, after 100000 runs, the sample is not displaced as described above and, furthermore, no cracks are present in the sample, continue with the impact test as described in 5.4.1 (see Table 7 for landing height). After the impact hammer has come to rest on the roller, measure the displacement deformation and carefully inspect the sample for cracks.
