product line is now manufactured by Emerson Automation, with the
module retaining all its core design features. It is configured
with six analog input channels that support current-sourcing wiring
and delivers a resolution of 6 µA. As an integral component of the Genius I/O Block system, the
IC660BBA026 is equipped with an embedded Genius Bus communication
interface. This enables the module to operate independently as a
fully functional remote I/O unit, capable of transmitting and
receiving I/O data to and from a master controller via its native
configuration settings. Boasting a rackless design, it eliminates
the requirement for a dedicated backplane or chassis, thereby
maximizing flexibility in installation methods. The module can be
mounted either right-side up or upside down, provided it is housed
within an enclosure that offers protection against airborne
particles and industrial contaminants. For deployment in a multi-drop network with multiple units of the
same module or compatible products in the series, a minimum spacing
of 2 inches must be maintained between individual blocks.
Additionally, terminating resistors must be installed across the
Serial 1 and Serial 2 terminals of the first and last nodes in the
network to ensure stable communication. Notably, the input channels of the IC660BBA026 require no
calibration for normal operation. It is integrated with
software-configurable diagnostic capabilities, including low and
high alarm reporting, overrange and underrange detection, open-wire
detection, and internal fault notification. The module also
supports software-selectable input conversion times, which can be
adjusted within a range of 16.6 ms to 400 ms to suit specific
application requirements. Functionally, the IC660BBA026 is a current-source input block
engineered to interface with devices that output 4–20 mA analog
current signals. It can be conveniently configured using a Phase B
hand-held monitor, which also displays alarm limits and diagnostic
error messages, and allows users to clear historical fault records.
The module incorporates a voltage-to-frequency converter that
converts incoming analog current signals into digital signals for
processing. Each input circuit features a 24 V-rated current loop capable of
supplying up to 25 mA of current, and users can set independent
upper and lower alarm thresholds for individual channels. The
module’s diagnostic system is designed to detect input current
levels below 2 mA, with a typical thermal drift of 70 PPM per
degree Celsius. For proper thermal management during installation, a clearance of
at least 2 inches between adjacent blocks is mandatory to ensure
adequate airflow. Mounting can be done in either orientation by
drilling appropriate bolt holes, and a dedicated mounting kit with
necessary accessories is included with the module. For safety
purposes, Terminal 5—connected to the block chassis—serves as the
grounding terminal. The module requires a 115 VAC or 125 VDC power
supply, with the power source connected to the H terminal and the
neutral line connected to the N terminal. The IC660BBA026 is fully compatible with redundant PLC systems, as
