GE FANUC IC697CPM914 , GMR Redundant CPU Module Designed , Series 90-70Product Description
The IC697CPM914 module is designed with the new sweep mode for Release 6.00 CPUs. Microcycle mode allows the PLC to keep the time interval between I/O scans. For an efficient process of I/O scans, the CPU must know the amount of the sweep to be assigned to the output scan. The time needed for the previous sweep output scan is required under normal operations to help calculate the sweep’s output scan. The Serial Communications feature has operating restrictions. On any sweep, the serial communication can add up to a maximum of 5 milliseconds, and this should be remembered when the watchdog device is set. The IC697 module is powered by the IC697 PLC rack. It is vital that the rack jumper is charged because the PLC will not identify the rack and may not identify the error. All expansion racks should be powered when the main rack receives power, and if the CPU is operating, expansion racks cannot be powered during processing. A battery is recommended when powering the IC697CPM914 module. The PCM includes a default backplane communication with a maximum value of 5 seconds. Once the request has been sent via the PCM to the IC697 CPU, the timeout is applied by the PCM.
About IC697CPM914The IC697CPM914 module is a 32-bit CPU module with floating point support. This module uses an 80486DX processor which has a clock speed of 32 megahertz. The power requirements of the module are 2.8 Amps of nominal current and 5 Volts DC voltage. The IC697CPM914 module supports up to 512 kilobytes of RAM. The memory is battery-backed by an on-board lithium battery which can provide 6 months of memory retention. An RS-422/RS-485 compatible serial port is available on the module. This port can be used to connect to a Work Station interface in a programming computer. This serial port can also connect to a serial port on a programming computer through an RS-422 to RS-232 converter. The serial port on the IC697CPM914 module has a 15-pin D-type connector.
A parallel connection to a port on the bus transmitter module can also be used to connect the IC697CPM914 CPU module to a MS-DOS based programmer. Ethernet connections for CPU programming are also supported. The IC697CPM914 module supports up to 8000 analog I/O and 12,000 I/O in any mix. One slot is required in the PLC rack for the installation of the CPU module. Four status LEDs provide status updates. The programming and configuration of the IC697CPM914 module needs to be performed through software because the CPU does not have DIP switches for configuration. Several optional modules are supported including Ethernet, coprocessor, bus controller, and I/O modules. The recommended working temperature range for the module is from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. The recommended range for relative humidity is from 5 to 95%. Technical Specifications
