GE FANUC IC697CHS791 , 9-Slot, Front Mount PLC Rack , I/O ConfigurationsProduct Description
In the mechanical keying process, to avoid unintended swap of one module type for another, a key is designed for each module type. Once the module is inserted into the IC697CHS791 rack, the key will latch onto the middle rail of the rack where it will stay once the module is removed. The rack slots are designed for the correct module type to be placed in that slot. If the module needs to be moved to another location in the rack, the key can be removed by pushing upward. This will release the latch. When there are several racks in a system, all racks receive a number between 0-7 with the CPU rack always being 0. Four binary -programmed jumpers located on the IC697CHS791 rack’s backplane are the derived point for the PLC determination of the numbers for each rack.
About IC697CHS791The GE Fanuc IC697CHS791 rack is a standard 9-slot rack that is front-mounted. This 9-slot rack is part of the GE Series 90-70 product line. The purpose of the IC697CHS791 9-slot rack is to be part of the base of a programmable logic controller or PLC system and to host up to 9 PLC modules at a time. The IC697CHS791 rack’s dimensions are 11.15 x 19 x 7.5 inches. This rack is made to mount in the front on another rack that is a standard 19-inch or 480-millimeter rack, and it normally does not need to have a fan installed to cool it down. The IC697CHS791 rack can be used in any Series 90-70 PLC I/O and CPU configuration and they accept all types of GE Series 90-70 IC697 PLC modules.
On the GE IC697CHS791 9-slot standard rack, there is a power supply connector located to the left of all the module slots where the power supply module for the rack is connected. The power supply can be an AC supply or a DC supply. This rack can also be connected to another rack and they can share a power supply in an extended I/O application setup, and this connection is made possible with a GE power supply expansion cable kit. The IC697CHS791 9-slot rack needs 0.5 Amps of current from the I/O Bus. The modules that it hosts are secured in place with mechanical keying. Modules that have been keyed in place can be removed if necessary, but keying prevents them from being removed to easily, installed in the wrong slot, or from being used to replace the wrong module.
