GE FANUC IC693PRG300 , G300 Hand-Held Programmer , Series 90-30 PLCProduct DescriptionThe GE Fanuc IC693PRG300 is a G300 Hand-Held Programmer (HHP). This tool enables users to develop, debug, and monitor logic programs. Users can also monitor data tables and configure parameters for PLC units and I/O points. It uses the Statement List Language and it is possible to program this HHP with some models of the Series 90-30 PLC. The Hand-Held Programmer cannot view or edit the user logic program in any Series 90-30 CPU with a model number of 350 and above. For these CPUs, users can use Logicmaster 90-30, VersaPro or Control programming software. There is a 15-pin D-type connector on the Series 90-30 PLC. This is located in the CPU baseplate of the power supply. This connector enables the HHP to connect to the CPU serial port. To physically connect them, use a 6-foot (2-meters) long cable (IC693CBL303). This will provide power to the HHP and also emits a signal that lets the PLC know a HHP is attached. It’s possible to connect or disconnect the HHP while the PLC is under power. In order to communicate with a PLC, the HHP does not need communications parameter configuration. This aids troubleshooting issues when there is a communication problem between the PC and a PLC.

The main function of this device is to monitor logical operations, and to configure and debug issues in the application programs. It is a PLC device that can modify the I/O parameters. It can be connected to a CPU by using its serial port. A 15-pin D-type connector is present in the device that connects with the CPU serial port. The IC693PRG300 module uses the statement list language. The handheld programming device or HHP device does not require any communication parameter configuration in order to communicate with a PLC. The front part of the HHP has a keypad with 42 keys that are arranged in a matrix format that measures 6 keys across by 7 keys down. The keypad offers tactile feedback and it is easy to use. An LCD screen is also present along with the keypad and the screen can display 2 lines with 16 characters of information at a time.
The GE Fanuc IC693PRG300 module is equipped with a memory card slot that can accept non-volatile data storage for backup and restoration purposes. The memory card slot is present on the lower right side of the device. The IC693PRG300 module operates in 4 different modes, and these are the Program mode, the Protection mode, the Data mode, and the Configuration mode. The Program mode allows an operator to create, change, monitor, and debug statements. The Protection mode offers a way to control the access to different PLC functions. In the Data mode, an operator can alter the values in different reference tables, and the Configuration mode is used to define the type of I/O modules that are needed for the applications that are run in the PLC system.
