The Schneider Automation 140-CPU-113-03 is a Modicon Quantum 80186
Concept Processor with 1 Modbus plus and 2 Modbus RS232. Its total
memory is 512K. It has an internal RAM capability of 368 kB of
processing power, with a clock frequency of 20 MHz. It can be used
with a 2 NOM, NOE, CR or NMS communications module. For a
distributed I/O system with 3 networks, the CPU requires the use of
a 140NOM21x00 Option processor. Its 984 type memory is max 16k
words. This product can work with Concept or ProWORX 32 software,
and does not use a mathematical co-processor. It is recommended
that its operating altitude remains under 5000 meters. This product
is CUL and FM Class 1 Division 2 certified. Its ambient air
temperature during operating conditions should remain between 0 to
60 °C. The Schneider Electric 140CPU11303 has two 3-position front panel
slide switches. The left switch can be used for memory protection
when in the top position, and no member protection when in the
bottom two positions. The right switch is used to select the
communication parameters for the Modbus RS-232 ports. The top
position assigns ASCII functionality to the port. The middle
position assigns a remote terminal unit to the port. The bottom
position gives you the ability to assign communication settings to
the port in the software. All Quantum CPUs come with a 9-pin
RS-232C connector that supports the Modicon Modbus comms protocol.
Two rotary switches are located on the rear of the module. They are
used for setting the Modbus Plus node and Modbus port addresses.
The top switch (SW1) sets the upper digit in tens of the address;
the bottom switch (SW2) sets the lower digit ones of the address.
If 0 or an address higher than 64 is chosen, the Modbus + LED will
stay “on” to indicate the selection of an invalid address.
