This combustion testing machine is usually applied to auto (car,multipurpose passenger coach and truck) interior material's horizontal combustion characteristics.

The sample was put horizontally on the U shape bracket, a small flame lighted at the sample free end for 15s in the combustion chamber. Record whether the flame extincted,or when it will extinct. And the sample burning distance, burning time for this distance.

Features:

Data read: Burning time, remaining flame time, burning distance
Testing result: the burning speed V(mm/min) converts as the following formula:V=60X(L/T). L means the burning distance(mm); T means the needed time to burn this distance(s). The biggest burning speed is the testing result.
Component:

Burning system: Anti-corrosive combustion box, gas burner nozzle with 9.5mm diameter; automatic ignition control system, intake/exhaust system

Timing system: burning timer, afterflame timer

Testing fixture: Two pieces of U shape frame made from corrosion resistant metal plate. Under one of the frame, there are 0.25mm diameter heat resistant metal wire with the distance of 25mm.

Glass observation window: In the front of combustion chamber is a heat resistant glass observation window to see the burning speed change when burning.

Stainless steel chamber: below the chamber, there are ten vents with diameter 19mm, the walls of the vent is near the top, and there is ventilation slot with 13mm width. The whole combustion chamber is supported by four feets with 10mm height. A small hole for inserting thermometer is on the top of combustion chamber and 20mm far from the frame.
