The fire pump system is consist of following parts:Jockey pump group, electric drive pump group, diesel engine drive pump group and other accessory. The jockey pump group maintains the pressure of fire pipe network system. The electric drive pump group and diesel engine drive pump group are the main pumps of fire pump system, supply water for fire pipe network system
In the event of a fire, it is often accompanied by a power outage. At this point the electric motor can not start, and the use of diesel fuel as a fire fighting diesel engine can work properly at this time to ensure the normal supply of water.
Selection of fire fighting diesel engine
Engine power rated at SAE Conditions 25℃ (77°F ) and 91 m (300 ft ) above sea level
Engines power must be derated for Altitude and Temperature
3% Derate for every 300 m (1000 ft ) above 91 m (300 ft ).
1% Derate for every 5.6 ℃(10°F ) above 25 ℃ (77°F)
Formula: (CA + CT – 1) x hp = derated hp
