The presence of antibodies on the surface of sperm can reduce their motility, hinder their passage

through cervical mucus, and also hinder their binding to the oocyte, leading to fertilization disorders.

Clinical applications:

• Sperm coating antibodies are typical and specific indicators of immune infertility;
• When the MAR result is abnormal, it can be diagnosed as immunological infertility after confirmation
  by other tests (sperm cervical mucus contact test, sperm cervical mucus capillary test).

Product features:

• The product adopts the method recommended by WHO to detect IgG antibodies in motile sperm;
• Provide positive quality control serum;
• Compared with the detection method using red blood cell carriers, the detection is more sensitive,
  the results are more stable, and the reagent storage period is longer.

Principles:

Anti-IgG serum can bind to both IgG antibodies present on the surface of sperm and IgG coated on latex
particles, forming a sperm IgG antibody anti-IgG coated latex particle complex;

Latex particles adhere to the surface of sperm and swim together with the sperm. When latex particles are
observed attached to the surface of the swimming sperm under a microscope, it is determined that the
sperm contains IgG coated antibodies.

Required devices:

Ordinary optical microscope or phase contrast microscope

Ordinary glass slide, cover glass slide

Result explanation:

Sperm with latex particles attached to the head or middle of the sperm is considered positive;

The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends a normal reference value: MAR<50%.

Precautions:

High viscosity specimens should be tested immediately after liquefaction promotion;

The observation of MAR results is only conducted between motile sperm;

Store reagents at 2-8 ℃ and do not freeze them;

Use a Pipette with an appropriate range to avoid excessive loss of reagents and insufficient testing volume.
