Wireline Tools / Slickline Tools are certain category of tools which are used when any well workover and intervention related activities needs to be performed in an already producing oil or gas well. The slickline tools / wireline tools are mainly used to lower and raise downhole tools in oil and gas well maintenance, which can help to the appropriate depth of the drilled well.
A wireline is nothing but a cabling system which has a string
attached and all the workover equipment can be lowered into the
borehole being attached to this string. The wireline operator
monitors at surface the slickline tension via a depth counter
‘zeroed’ from surface, lower the downhole tool to the proper depth,
completes the job by manipulating the downhole tool mechanically,
and make sure it worked if possible, and pulls the tool back
