Introudction of RD Circulating Valve

The rupture disk circulating valve is operated by annulus pressure, and used for drill stem testing service. the annulus pressure made RD burst and the pressure goes into RD hole and push circulating mandrel forward, then open the circulating ports.

Feature of  RD Circulating Valve Structure 

The RD circulating valve consist of power section and circulating section:

1. The power section composed with a power mandrel case and rupture disk and the rupture disck is available for a wide range of pressure applications , that bursts at a predetermined pressure, then allowing annulus pressure to be applied to a differential area on the power mandrel.

2. The circulating sectio is a set of ports, and the circulating ports are initially sealed by the power mandrel. When the rupture disk bursts at a predetermined pressure, the power mandrel moves down, the ports are exposed, and permit communication between the annulus and DST workstring.

Operation

Before the Rupture Disk - RD circulating valve is used, the operating pressure must be calculated for selecting the proper rupture disk pressure rating. It require information including mud weight, bottom hole temperature, testing depth and maximum annulus pressure. When the rupture disk circulating valve is run with an annulus pressure-operated valve, the safety valve operating pressure should be kept 1,000 PSI above the operating pressure of the tester valve.
